My project focuses on understanding the social determinants of youth suicide in the England. I aim to look at the structural and individual factors that increase risk of (or protect against) suicide among young people (aged 12-25).Â
I have completed a realist review of how policies address the social determinants of suicide in England, as well as a analysis of a birth cohort study. I will be looking to explore the lived experiences of young people and combining this togehter through a mixed-methods approach.Â

My project explores magistrates decision-making in relation to cases of domestic violence, specifically coercive controlling behaviour. It will determine whether the current theory of juror decision-making, the Story Model of Evidence Evaluation, can be used to explain magistrates decision-making. The secondary aim of the project is to evaluate the training magistrates recieve in relation to their role and domestic violence.Â
I will do this by using a mix of methods including: think aloud protocols, quantitative surveys, and semi-structured interviews.

My project explores memory and metamemory processes for sexual violence along the reporting pathway. The project is mixed methods: I’ve conducted experimental studies using an implied sexual assault scenario in Virtual Reality, and I will be conducting a qualitative study interviewing Forensic Medical Examiners to explore their perceptions of memory for sexual violence.
